🌙 Dev Shayani Ekadashi – A Divine Pause

Good morning, beloveds.

Today is not just a day on the calendar — it’s a cosmic threshold—one of those quiet doors in the universe that we’re asked not to walk past blindly. It’s Dev Shayani Ekadashi — the day Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, gently closes his eyes and withdraws into yogic slumber.

Vishnu in his yognindra in sheer sagar

Now imagine this: The being who sustains everything — from the breath in your body to the dance of galaxies — says, "I rest now." And in that moment, the whole rhythm of existence shifts. The order you’ve known doesn’t collapse — it just... hands over the wheel.

For the next four months, Vishnu sleeps on the coils of Sheshnag in the Ksheer Sagar — not because the world stops needing him, but because the divine is always a cycle. Always a relay. Always preparing you to listen to the voices you’ve ignored.

And as he sleeps, others awaken. Other energies rise—other gods, other guardians. One by one, the divine baton is passed. And each one holds it differently.

In just a few days, on Guru Purnima (July 10), the Gurus take the seat of light. It is they who begin guiding us through words, silence, blessings, and presence. It is they who become the mouthpiece of truth while Vishnu rests.

Then the skies open to Shravan — starting July 11 — the month of Lord Shiva.

Now the world will feel heavier, deeper, more internal. We will fast, chant, and go within. The storm of Shiva will meet the silence of Vishnu, and those who dare will feel it in their bones.

Later, Navratri, Tulsi Vivah, and Pitru Paksha follow. The feminine awakens, the ancestors walk, the debt of the soul is paid. All while Vishnu sleeps.

So what should we do now?

Honestly? We rest too. We surrender, too. This is not the season to start a war or build an empire. This is the time to water your roots. Don’t start anything new. Don’t plan the biggest launch of your life. This is the time to make peace with the parts of you that have been screaming for silence.

On this Ekadashi, light a diya. Offer Tulsi. Say his name once with sincerity. Not because he needs it, but because you do. Because something in you has also longed to rest. And now… You can. Because the gods are changing guard. And Vishnu is dreaming the world into being. So let us soften. Let us listen to our Gurus. Let us fast not just from food, but from ego, chaos, and noise.

Let us remember that even the preserver of the universe pauses. And if he can, so can we.

🌿

With all my devotion,

Shivansh
